Joint Dux of the School in 2005, Andrew Currie has been awarded a scholarship which will help him purchase books for his Italian studies – and could help him travel to Italy in the future.
The Italian Australian Institute Scholarship is awarded to an applicant who shows excellence in VCE Italian, and who intends to continue in his or her study of Italian in a Victorian tertiary institute.
Professor of Italian Dr Pietro Genovesi presented Andrew with his award at the Italian Cultural Institute in Domain Road, with many distinguished Italian academics present.
Andrew says that the scholarship will be extremely helpful in paying for the various books necessary for studying Italian, and in the future it might provide a starting point for travel in Italy.
