Combined String Concert

More than 200 young musicians filled the stage at the Ian Roach Hall in a massed performance of the March and Reprise from the Concerto Grosso for String Orchestra by Ralph Vaughan Williams.

This was the highly impressive concluding piece of a Combined String Concert at the James Forbes Academy in May, featuring Scotch and PLC students.

Anita Lam and Peter Chandler (Captains of Music) hosted the evening with aplomb and all students performed with great expertise and professionalism in front of a near-capacity audience.

The girls and boys performed a wide range of pieces, including works by Telemann, Mozart, Rimsky-Korsakov, Vivaldi, Wiren and Copland. It was a perfect opportunity to display the scope and flexibility of the James Forbes Academy.
