A sample of a marvellous city’s delights

Tim Thorn

Tim Thorn (Õ53) led the Bushwalking ClubÕs
ÔMarvellous MelbourneÕ walk.

Billed as the ‘Marvellous Melbourne walk’, the Bushwalking Club’s June midweek walk certainly lived up to its promotional hype, with 11 enthusiastic members and friends enjoying a memorable cross-city stroll filled with highlights.

Starting at the Immigration Museum in Flinders Street at 10am, the walk took in a visit to the historic Savage Club in Bank Place, and stops at the ANZ Gothic bank, the Burke and Wills monument, the Stanford fountain in the park opposite the second site of Scotch, and – on our way to our parting cup of coffee – a stop at Oakford Gordon Place in Little Bourke Street, formerly Gordon House for homeless men.
