Bursary continues Boykett family’s commitment to Scotch

Sixty-nine years ago a young boy by the name of John Boykett (’48) entered the gates of Scotch College Junior School, thus beginning a long association for the Boykett family with the School. During the following 69 years there has only been one year, 1962, that a member of the Boykett family has not been present, either as a student or a member of staff at Scotch.

John was quickly followed by his three brothers David (’51), Peter (’53) and Graeme (’61). The next generation of Boyketts commenced at Scotch in 1968 and currently a grandson of David, Andrew Boykett, is in Year 8.

While Scotch is proud of its five generational families, the Boykett family is also truly remarkable in their continuous support of our School. Both Peter and John are members of the Foundation. Together with the establishment of the Boykett Bursary by John, a bequest has also been committed to grow the bursary. This bursary will assist a current student whose family find themselves in financial difficulty.

Scotch wishes to recognise the outstanding contributions made by David and Graeme during their time on the teaching staff, and acknowledge the positive influence they have had on so many boys over the past 45 years.
