If you’re in the 50 to 75 age bracket and you’re looking for a fun way to keep fit and stay in touch with your former schoolmates, the Old Scotch Bushwalking Club could be just what you’re looking for.

Each year the club organises 10 to 12 walks on weekends and about the same number of midweek walks (on Wednesdays or Thursdays). Distances and degrees of difficulty vary, but weekend walks are usually about 12km to 15km and weekday walks tend to be about 10km. Weekend walks are usually on Sundays in bush areas within easy driving distance from Melbourne.

Included in the club’s annual itinerary are a beach walk, an urban walk, weekends away, a winery walk (walking between wineries, and enjoying lunch at one of the wineries) and a ‘walk and dine’ - a summer evening walk, followed by a meal at a restaurant. It’s all great fun.

For more information, contact the club’s membership secretary, Lachlan McLean, on 9598 4406, or visit the club’s page at www.oscanet.com.au. GS
