Michael Ojaimi (Prep) has not only started school this year, but he and his family have moved to Melbourne, arriving from Sydney during the summer holidays. Michael is impressed with the big Junior Primary playground, and he enjoys making friends and ‘concentrating on my reading’.
Fellow Prep student Shaun Nadesapillai also enjoys the playground, and while in the classroom he is happiest reading and doing jigsaw puzzles. Tom Palazzo enjoys the dress-ups area and the construction table, and is impressed with the size of the playground. Another Prep student, Harry Jane, who has older brothers attending the school, feels very at home at Scotch and like his older brothers cites football, soccer and cricket as his favourite activities.
The Junior School was delighted to welcome Year 1 student, James Chen, at the beginning of the year. James joins us from Deepdene Primary School. He enjoys playing with his new friends and working in the classroom.
Year 4 student Charles Aitken joins Scotch from Glenferrie Primary. He describes the school as big and exciting, and he is thrilled with the oval and its newly laid turf, a stark contrast to the dusty oval he played on last year. Scotty Wylie (Year 4) comes from Malvern Primary. He too describes Scotch as being big with lots of people. He has just enjoyed his first school camp and is excited by the prospect of learning the drums at school.
Malachy O’Shannessy (Year 4) is a well-travelled student who joins us from Bendigo. Malachy is thrilled that science is taught as a specialist subject by the Deputy Head of the Junior School, Mr Grant Phillips.
We welcome all new families and students to Scotch, and we look forward to encouraging each boy to achieve his full potential and to be his best. GS
