The Hon Alex Chernov AO QC has succeeded Ian Renard (’63) as Chancellor of The University of Melbourne. Mr Chernov is only the 20th chancellor in the university’s 155-year history. His sons – Andrew (’87) and Michael (’92) – attended Scotch.
As a Queen’s Counsel, Mr Chernov has practised almost exclusively in commercial and company law, and equity.
Ian Renard was Vice-Captain of Scotch in 1964, and was a Prefect and Captain of Gilray House.
Don McClean (’52) sent us this photograph of members of the Junior School under 13 cricket team of 1945/46 intently watching a game unfold. Don went on to become a member of the 1952 1st XI and has always been a staunch supporter of Scotch cricket.
