Over 200 people attended the cocktail party at which Robert Wade, one of the country's most highly regarded watercolourists, opened the eighth Ken Field Memorial Art Exhibition.
Comments about the exhibition, which featured works of some of Australia's finest artists, included 'the best artwork I have seen at any Victorian exhibition over the last few years', 'how can you gather together all top artists at one show' and 'what a wonderful venue for such a quality exhibition'.
Fifty per cent of the paintings were sold over the two days and in excess of 600 people visited.
The Ken Field Endowment Fund for the Arts which provides support for enhancement of the Arts at Scotch, benefited by almost $25,000.
Thanks must go to past parent Sue Edwards, and her team from her company Aalto, for providing the superb stands and the lighting.
There were over 100 paintings hung for the show and each artist sold at least one painting.
