The idea of a Scotch Past Parents' Association has been discussed for quite a long time. Well, we are finally getting it off the ground!
By now, all parents whose boys left in the years 1991 to 1997 inclusive should have received an introductory letter with an application form. If you were one of those, then hopefully you have decided to join.
The purpose of the Past Parents' Association is to give fathers who are not necessarily Old Boys and mothers (who unfortunately can never be Old Boys!) an opportunity to continue their association with the school.
It will also help them to retain the friends which they made whilst their sons were there. At present, if you are not an Old Boy, the contacts tend to be lost.
The Association will commence with an inaugural dinner to be held on September 10 at Scotch. A tour of the latest school facilities will be available for anyone who wishes to take part. We are sure that it will be a great event providing a unique opportunity to renew old acquaintances.
The suggestions so far are for all PPA members to be invited to Family Days, school concerts and annual year reunions. If you as a past or present parent have any other ideas about the sort of activities that the PPA should be involved in, please do not hesitate to contact any of the following committee members - Tim James Year of '91, Di Senior '92, Debbie Jefferson '93/'95, Brian Costello '94, Ron Doherty '96 , Pam Zelcer '97.
