The Scotch Family was saddened to learn of the death of a great Scotch Collegian, Don Lithgow (Class of '43).
The School Archivist noted in the July issue of Great Scot that 'Don led by example; he believed that those who had benefited from a Scotch education should be of service to the community.'
Don's commitment to service, and in particular support of youth, will be perpetuated through a substantial bequest he has made to the Scotch Foundation. A special endowment, in Don's name, established by the Foundation, will benefit Scotch boys in perpetuity
At the June meeting of the Foundation Board of Trustees, the following minute was recorded 'Don Lithgow, a Trustee of the Foundation, had devoted a significant part of his life to the service of youth and that his bequest would enable a continuation of that support in a school with which he had a long and happy association'
