Language centre courses are booming!

The new Language Centre course on the Internet and E-mail is proving very popular, with a healthy number of potential 'net-surfers' learning to use search engines to find information on anything from doing business to going on holiday, and much more.

Those interested in communicating are also learning that E-mail is much easier, faster, and more fun than 'snail-mail'. There is little doubt that the Internet is here to stay, and that we ignore it at our peril. Our courses are a convenient way to get started, with an excellent teacher, so for further details please phone us on 9810 4407.

Watch out for further expansion next year into courses on computing, from getting started to working with word processors, spreadsheets, data bases, home accounting packages, etc. Creating Home Pages on the Internet for home or business is also likely to be popular.

Language courses are booming, with enrolments at record levels and 22 classes running each week in French, German, Indonesian, Italian, Japanese, Mandarin Chinese, and Spanish.

Some classes are full and have a waiting list for the first time, since we limit the size of classes to allow faster progress. We are delighted with this upsurge of interest in language learning, and are encouraging it by offering a 10% discount to our students who re-enrol beyond the first semester. Many are taking advantage of this offer.

Cooking classes are also booming, with nearly 190 bookings for some of Melbourne's best chefs such as Greg Malouf, Allen Woo, Guy Grossi (see picture on this page), Philippe Mouchel (whose new restaurant opened recently at Langtons), Laurent Boillon, etc. Some of these classes are also full and have a waiting list. The new arrangement of booking for individual sessions is very popular, as is the earlier time of 7.00pm to 9.30pm.

It is all happening at the Language Centre.
