The OS Collegians' Lodge

The Lodge recently formalised the amendment of its name to The Old Scotch Collegians' Lodge No. 396, to clarify its function as an activity for Old Boys and several special events to celebrate the Lodge's 75th birthday are coming up shortly:

  • Thursday 3 May. The Annual Old Boys' Night, with a special invitation to all Old Boys who are freemasons. All freemasons are welcome. There will be a talk on the life of Sir Harry Lawson, Premier of Victoria from 1918 to 1924 (and Master of the Lodge in 1926), following which the 'History of the Lodge, 1925 - 2000' will be launched.
  • Thursday 7 June. A special re-enactment of Consecration of the Lodge will be presented to mark the seventy-five years. Again, all Old Boys who are freemasons are invited to attend.

At our March meeting there was an interesting presentation on the similarities between the principles of Scouting and Freemasonry by the Monty Memorial Team of scounting freemasons, followed by an enjoyable campfire evening.
