Aths Winter Premiers again

Old Scotch won the APS Old Collegians Winter Premiership for a record 8th time in a row, thanks to consistent performances from old boys Peter Simm (’93), Mike Taylor (’95), and newer members Greg Lyons, Paul Wilson, and Darren Wilson.

Chris Taylor (’98) won the Ewen Macdonald 800m handicap for the second year running!
A large field of 14 runners ensured a most successful Scotch Family Day event. Thanks to the school for providing the tent.

Our annual Fun Run was held at Smith’s Reserve on Sunday 14 October, with David Johnston (’97) taking out the handicap, and Chris Taylor running the fastest time.

Our summer season has started well with Division One fifth on the ladder and Division Three equal first after two rounds.

We are pleased to announce the recruitment of two current schoolboys Darcy Long and Alec Dick for our under 16 team, and we hope more up-and-comers will join the list of eight current schoolboys at Old Scotch.

Our 75th Anniversary dinner was held at Queen’s Hall, Parliament House, on Saturday 20 October. It was a great success, with Governor John Landy as guest speaker, Ian Cover as MC, and the ever-controversial announcement of our ‘Team of the Century.’

Membership levels are low at the moment, with just 35 registered athletes, but we hope to boost that number to approximately 50 in the coming weeks.
