A new Old Scotch Lodge year commenced on 1 November, with the installation of Robert Brelaz ('49) into the Chair.
The Installation ceremony was led by Keith Weymouth ('44) and Bob Arnold ('44), assisted by a team of the Lodge's Past Masters, and attended by some eighty-five members and guests. This was an exciting event and a great start to a big year for Robert and the Old Scotch Lodge.
The October meeting was the final night for retiring Master, Bill Tingate ('55), when the Lodge enjoyed an evening singing the updated ceremonial odes. To many present it brought back fond memories of Foundation Day Concert rehearsals with 'Claude' Monteath!
A charity fund-raising Film Night was held later in October, with a screening of the film 'Hopscotch' in the Scotch Science Auditorium. This popular night was attended by more than one hundred members and friends, raising over twelve hundred dollars for the Aged Care Homes.
The OS Lodge annual Christmas Dinner was held late in November in the Boykett Roomof the Cardinal Pavillion. It was also attended by about one hundred members and their families, who enjoyed excellent fare in out-standing surroundings. All present were in fine voice for the usual carol singing to complete a wonderful evening.
The OS Lodge has about one hundred members, all of whom are Old Scotch Collegians, and meets on the first Thursday of each month (except January).
