Diegesis Festival 2002

We were fortunate to have five boys selected to show their artwork in September at the Australian Centre for the Moving Image, Diegesis Festival. ACMI has recently moved its headquarters into the new Art Complex at Federation Square, Flinders Street, and City.

Diegesis 2002 Year 12 students entered the following pieces; Cameron Algie entered a short film, James Wilson, animation, James Norman, portrait photography, Tushar Wahab, digital photograph, and Michel Roy of Year 11, a photographic piece.

Tushar Wahab was selected from over a thousand entries with his 'Tree of Life', as the winner of the digital photographic section. The piece was on display in the Teachers Centre foyer during the Art Show. The Festival Judges comments were posted on the Internet and written in direct response to viewing the image, without access to reading Tushar's ideas as expressed in his studio art folio brief. It was uncanny how accurate they were in interpreting the concept behind the work. The large format print will be framed, and hung in the James Forbes Academy.
