Manson Russel awarded Australian Sports Medal

Manson Russel ('48) has been awarded the Australian Sports Medal in recognition for his services to Australian Football.

The Australian Sports Medal was awarded during the year 2000 to commemorate Australian sporting achievement and has been established as a commemorative award within the Australian honours system. The medal has been created to recognise the contributions of both current and former sports participants and for those who have provided support services to sport. The medal is a unique way for Australia to recognise the wide-ranging efforts of those who have made Australia a great sporting nation.

Manson's involvement with the Old Boys' Football Club and the Victoria Amateur Football Association has been outstanding.
