Nominate for 2002 Old Boy Perelberg Award

Perelberg Award

Nominate now for 2002 Old Boy Perelberg Award

Members of the Scotch Family have the opportunity this year to nominate an Old Boy to win the prestigious Perelberg Award.

To commemorate the life of Ashley Perelberg ('92), who tragically died at the age of 18, the Perelberg family has endowed an award to be presented annually to a member of the Scotch community, who demonstrates the true Scotch spirit, and who by his deeds, brings honour to the school, and service to the community.

The award was perpetuated with a significant work of art, in sterling silver, and displayed in the Lithgow Centre. A replica of a portion, also in silver, is presented to each year's winner on Speech Night.

The award is limited in alternate years to either students of Scotch or Old Boys.

The 1993 winner was schoolboy Sam Hume, with Teruma Naito the winner in 1995, Andrew Simm in 1997, Paul Greening in 1999, and Nick Demiris in 2001.

The inaugural award to an Old Boy went to Hugh Taylor in 1994, in 1996 it went to

Ian Stapleton, in 1998 to Rob Moodie, and in 2000 to David Penington.

Nomination Criteria

Nominations are sought for an Old Boy who has contributed significantly to the physical, moral, spiritual or actual welfare of theirs or another community; or who has provided significant service to the school; or who has committed an act of bravery in the service of others and has thereby, or in some other way, demonstrated the 'true Scotch spirit'.
