Australia Day Honours 2005

A meeting of the 11 Associated Public School Alumni Presidents and Executive Directors was hosted by OSCA at Scotch in early March to exchange ideas and values of each. The meeting was a huge success and moves are being made to hold some joint functions. Further talks will be made now at half yearly meetings being hosted on a rotation basis by each group.

Australia Day Honours 2005

The following Old Scotch Collegians have been awarded Australia Day Honours.

The Honorable Jeffrey Gibb KENNETT, AC (’65)

For service to the Victorian Parliament and the introduction of initiatives for economic and social benefit, to business and commerce and to the community in the development of the arts, sport and mental-health awareness strategies.

Major General Gregory Howard GARDE, AO RFD QC (’66)

For distinguished service to the Australian Defence Force Reserves, in particular as the Assistant Chief of Defence Force (Reserves) and Head Reserve Policy.

Thomas Harold BISSET, AM (’63)

For service to the development of the community housing sector to meet the needs of low-income and disadvantaged residents, and as a major contributor to the debate on broader social-welfare and policy issues.

Professor Garry Lawrence JENNINGS, AM (’63)

For service to medicine in the areas of cardiothoracic research and public health, to the Baker Heart Research Institute and the Alfred Hospital, and to professional and health-related organisations
