Walking into their second decade with style

The Old Scotch Bushwalking Club celebrated its 10th anniversary with a fun-filled dinner for 65 club members in the Cardinal Pavilion on a hot November night.

It was was a wonderful event, full of laughter and reminiscences of walks past. Features included a 20-minute DVD of scenes from our walks over 10 years, and a comedy act by ‘Cyril and Bert’ (alias David Ashton and Graham Stanley), two quirky bushwalkers who arrived unannounced during MC David Tolstrup’s welcoming remarks.

Tables were aptly decorated with walking boots filled with gum leaves, cardinal, gold and blue balloons and signposts for many of the places we’ve walked over the 10 years.

After an excellent meal and much talk, the three Presidents past and present tried (with no help from the ceiling fans!) to light the candles on the birthday cake, beautifully made by Lach and Sue McLean, and to lead the singing of happy birthday.
