If snow conditions preclude the camp operating as planned, an alternative walk will be organised.

Term 3 (with optional camp).
This activity focuses mainly on safe riding skills for group touring and most Thursday afternoons are devoted to rides along a variety of cycling paths close to Scotch, of about 20 kms length. Road safety and group riding techniques are covered as well in introductory sessions. The camp takes place in rural Victoria over four days and on the longer days distances of 80-95 kms are covered with fixed stop points. No gear is carried as there is a back up bus and trailer that follows at the rear. Students and staff generally camp at caravan parks each night.
Approximate camp cost: $150.
Term 3 (with optional camp).
The camp involves the pursuit of mountain bike riding in the countryside around Heathcote. The cost includes transport, instruction and provision of specialist equipment. Participants will supply their own food, cooking equipment, sleeping bag, backpack and tent. Preparation for the camp will occur in Term 3. The camp will be at the end of Term 3.

Term 1 (with compulsory camp).
Participants will be taught the basics of casting and fly tying during Term 1 leading up to a camp during the Term 1 vacation. A professional guide will accompany the boys on the camp near Omeo where they will be expected to do some walking and lightweight camping in the bush as they fish the rivers in the area. Participants will supply their own food, cooking equipment, sleeping bag, backpack and tent. Equipment can be hired if necessary.
Term 1 (with no camp).
The pool bronze medallion is an introduction to pool life saving, and the boys will be practicing rescues and first aid related to pools. Students who successfully complete the course will be given a certificate.
Approximate camp cost: $220.
Term 1 (with compulsory camp), Term 2 or Term 3 (with no camp).
The Thursdays will be spent learning and practicing climbing on a climbing wall in Williamstown. The camp will be held at Mt. Arapiles. On the camp students will again be exposed to a variety of boats, with the emphasis being larger boats as we make use of the clubs fleet of Beneteau 25 keelboats. A need for greater team work, boat handling skills, and subject to the weather, the ability to handle more challenging sea conditions will give the students a range of sailing experiences. The cost includes safety equipment, food and transport.

Term 2 or Term 3 (with compulsory camp).
Students will be trained in the basics of scuba diving by a qualified instructor at Scotch College enabling them to get certified as a PADI Open Water diver. Boys may apply to the Leadership Program. This takes place throughout the year and is limited to approximately 40 boys. Successful applicants will have to do at least three camps during the year.
Once the boys have successfully completed this program they then become leaders in Years 11 and 12 in outdoor activities in areas such as the Year 8 Hike, the Year 9 Expedition, the Year 10 Expedition, the Year 10 Leadership Program and SCALPS.
Students who completed the Leadership Course in Year 10 have the opportunity to join this activity in Term 2 of their last year. The committee will plan its own bushwalking, cycling, canoeing, kayaking, sailing and/or scuba camp to take place at the end of Term 2. Depending on the number of students, there may be the opportunity to plan more than one camp.
Future activities might include canoeing, looking for gold, horse trail riding, multi activity (snorkeling, bike riding, surfing), roller blading, surf bronze medallion and wind surfing
