After being told last minute that Anglesea was unavailable, we had to move the hike to Heallsville.
Nevertheless, the hike was a great success, with everyone havng fun mountain biking, hiking,
cooking on Trangias or just getting to know new people.
Welcome Back BBQ!
Scouts is one of the many fantastic extra curricular activities that Scotch has to offer. The annual Welcome Back Barbeque, held at the start of the year, is a great way for the existing scout parents to meet the new members of the scout troop and their parents. It was also a great way for the scouts and Junior School boys to meet the older, more experienced scouts. Everyone really enjoyed the barbeque and many parents were able to attend. Families provided their own food and shared the barbeque rotunda opposite the Cardinal Pavilion. The dads were very competitive about who could cook the best sausage, whilst the mums gossiped about their long weekends. The barbeque really made me feel welcome to the scouts troop and makes me feel like I am able to approach the older boys in the troop now and I look forward to the rest of the scouting year.

We put into practise skills in lightweight cooking and minimalistic packing skills, which we had learnt during Term 1.
