Dear Parents,

As you are aware widening of the CityLink tollway has impacted upon the School. The impact is manifest including a loss of land & amenity and operational restrictions and impacts during construction and beyond. Whilst the school has engaged continuously with the operator of the Tollway to minimise this, resolution of a resulting compensation claim for loss must be reached with VicRoads, which acquired the land required for widening.  It is in regard to this matter that I advise:

Later today the schoolís legal advisers will file a Notice of Referral with the Supreme Court of Victoria to have the Schoolís compensation assessed, in due course, under that jurisdiction. This is a procedural step which should not involve significant resources for some time, until the tollway works are completed;  however it is likely to generate some publicity in the media.

Regards,
Ross
