Wealth brings many friends, but a poor man’s friend deserts him. Many curry favour with a ruler and everyone is the friend of a man who gives gifts. Proverbs 19:4-6

Meaning:
Cynicism or realism? Some are fair-weather friends only, interested only in what they can get out of a relationship.
