OSCA

The Old Scotch Collegians’ Association (OSCA) was formally established in 1913 and we aim to:

  • promote the welfare and advancement of the School
  • enable past Scotch students (‘Old Boys’ – of all ages) to keep in touch with each other
  • promote sport, well-being, social interaction and entertainment among Old Boys.

In doing so OSCA has been instrumental in nurturing the School’s heritage and development and in enabling a wide network of Old Boys and their families to keep in touch with the School and each other.

By strengthening the connections among Old Boys OSCA seeks to provide the best alumni experience in the world. We seek to do that by focusing on three key priorities:

  1. Providing engaging ways for Old Boys to connect
  2. Providing compelling reasons for Old Boys to connect
  3. Providing rewarding opportunities to make the world a better place.

Recent OSCA initiatives include OSCA Thrive (focusing on wellness to assist in the broad well-being of Old Boys); a renewed focus on the specific needs of young Old Boys, and the launch of OSCAconnect.com.au (for connecting and engaging Old Boys of all ages).

More traditionally, each year OSCA hosts about 40 events including year-group and branch reunions, luncheons, golf days, and dinners in regional Victoria, interstate and overseas. OSCA’s flagship event is its renowned Annual Dinner which each year attracts over 400 Old Boys of all ages. The events help Old Boys living in all parts of the world keep connected.  Click here for more information on current events.

Membership of clubs and societies affiliated with OSCA is a great way to continue the passions and friendships formed at the School and to stay engaged with the wider Scotch Family. Some clubs relate to sport (including basketball, badminton, rugby, tennis, football, athletics, bowls, cricket and soccer) and others to interests (including bushwalking, rovers, pipes & drums, food & wine, film, music, drama and science).

The Old Scotch Football Club celebrates its first 100 years in 2021 but some of the other clubs formed recently. These include Old Scotch clubs for heritage (to support the School’s Archives and Museum), pipes and drums, past staff, symphony orchestra, rugby, badminton, basketball and science, technology engineering and mathematics (STEM).

The Old Scotch Music and Drama Club (OSMaD) has produced 12 full-scale musical productions. They include the 2019 production Miss Saigon which performed to large and enthusiastic audiences in the School’s James Forbes Academy and won the annual Lyrebird Awards’ award for Best Production – Musical.
