Will and Drew have been selected in the men’s coxless four, while Cameron and Josh are in the men’s eight. Cameron is returning to the men’s eight for the first time since 2010. Matt will be a member of the men’s 4 x 100m freestyle relay team in London.

All these athletes have imposing records in their chosen sports. Will was a member of two winning crews at the Head of the River, and won a bronze medal in the men’s eight at the 2010 World Rowing Championships and a silver medal in the men’s coxed pair at the 2011 World Rowing Championships.

Drew Ginn is one of Australia’s greatest-ever Olympians. At the age of 21 he won gold in Atlanta in 1996 as a member of the famous ‘Oarsome Foursome’ crew. He missed the Sydney Olympics because of a back injury, but came back to win gold in the pairs at Athens in 2004 and repeated the feat in Beijing. Drew has been included in the Australian Olympic Committee’s ‘50 of Our Finest’ list, and has been awarded an Order of Australia Medal (OAM) and an Australian Sports Medal.

Cameron won silver in the men’s coxless four at the Beijing Olympic Games, silver in the men’s coxless four at the 2009 World Rowing Championships, and bronze in the men’s eight at the 2010 World Rowing Championships. Josh rowed in winning Head of the River crews (2007 and 2008) and has competed at World Rowing Championships, coming seventh in the men’s coxless four at the 2010 championships and fourth in the men’s eight at last year’s championships.

Matt Targett (’02) won bronze in the pool as a member of Australia’s 4 x 100m freestyle relay team at the Beijing Olympics. In last year’s World Swimming Championships in Shanghai, China, Matt was a member of the winning Australian 4 x 100m freestyle team and won silver in the 50m butterfly.

The Scotch Family wishes Will, Drew, Cameron, Josh and Matt the very best of luck in London.
