Heritage Club is open to all

Words: Tim Shearer

Old Scotch has established a new affiliate, the Heritage Club to preserve the school’s cultural heritage and to promote the future planning and effective use of the archival material.

Scotch has a valuable collection of historical memorabilia, documents and records. It is important that they are properly preserved – fire, water and neglect can do serious damage; that they are available for study and research; and that Old Boys and their families are willing to entrust significant additional items to the collection.

All members of the Scotch Family – men and women, young and old – are warmly invited to participate in the Heritage Club’s activities. A number of members are already taking an active role and a wonderful spirit is building among them, with each working on a particular task which suits their interests and the time they can make available.

An important objective of the Club is to assist the School Archivist, Dr Jim Mitchell. Eh already has a long list of tasks to be undertaken, and he is always willing to discuss other activities in which people may be interested. GS
