Centenary of knighting of John Monash
On 12th August 1918 Lieutenant-General Sir John Monash was knighted by King George V at Bertangles, France. To commemorate the centenary of this unique honour to Scotch College’s most famous Old Boy all current boys and staff received a copy of Sir John Monash’s memoir of the Australians’ victories in 1918.
There was a special assembly at which John Monash's letter to Mr Littlejohn was read and images of the investiture taking place shown. Boys were also encouraged to exit school along Monash Drive.
