Foundation Day 2018
The 167th anniversary of the founding of Scotch College was celebrated in an assembly in the Memorial Hall and then in our annual Foundation Day Concert in the Hamer Hall. This year there was a theme of commemoration, marking the centenary of the conclusion of the First World War. A medley of war time songs, composed by Nicholas Buc ('99), was sung by the boys in Years 10-12 and accompanied by the school Symphony Orchestra.
Other highlights of the concert included two Year 12 boys performing the solos in movements from the Elgar Cello Concerto and the Brahms Violin Concerto, the College Choir singing Baba Yetu, the Chamber Choir delivering the spiritual 'Walk in Jerusalem' and Chick Corea's 'Spain' performed by the Show Band.
