Message From The Principal - 27th July 2021

27th July 2021

Dear Parents and Guardians,

With what I imagine is a shared Olympian sense of relief, subsequent to this morning’s announcement by the Victorian Government, I inform that from, and including, Wednesday, 28th July, all boys not otherwise directed by the Government can return to on campus learning. In so doing, I join with all Scotch staff in extending warm, and hopefully what will prove long, welcome back to School.

Subject to Government direction and any local restrictions, all boarders may return to the Hill from 4pm today. Further information will follow to boarding families from the Dean of Boarding to whom any particular queries should be addressed.

I would note:

  • Unless in circumstance of exception, Senior School boys must wear masks at all times: at School, on public transport and, in general, when out of the family home.
  • Hygiene and social distancing protocols remain.
  • Services and sport training resume.
  • We await direction from the Department of Education and Training (DET), and further information will follow regarding access to the campus, Saturday sport, the Years 8 and 9 Play and other scheduled events.
  • Until otherwise, advised, the School remains closed to all but essential visitors.

Of immediate significance for families of boys who have been, or who may be, directed to isolate:

  • If you haven’t yet informed the School, please do so at the soonest opportunity via your son’s Head of School (Ms Stalker - Middle School boys; Mr Rayner - Upper School boys). For such communication regarding Junior School boys, please e-mail the Junior School office.
  • The School will need to receive a copy of your clearance e-mail from the Department of Health prior to your son’s return to School. This information should be forwarded to covidisolation@scotch.vic.edu.au
  • Remote learning will be provided to boys who have been, or who are, directed to isolate.

From separation we again return to School life. Long may the latter triumph over the former. Thank you for all you are doing to further such cause.

Yours sincerely,

I Tom Batty

Principal
