Nepal disaster - Scotch College

Nepal disaster

Nepal has suffered a devastating earthquake. The death toll has reached over 4000 and continues to climb daily. Officials are struggling to gauge the full scale of the disaster and urgent aid assistance is being desperately sought from around the World.

Scotch College has enjoyed a special connection with Nepal for the last 25 years, with biannual Scotch expeditions taking hundreds of boys to Nepal. The last Scotch expedition returned just a few months ago, where boys enjoyed the hospitality of the Nepali people in Kathmandu, Bhaktapur and in Pokhara, these being

the areas hit most hard by the recent earthquake.  Many of the ancient temples Scotch boys have visited are now destroyed and fate of the hundreds of sherpas who have assisted Scotch tours over the years remain uncertain.

Boys were encouraged to donate money and also blankets and sleeping bags.
