Science and Mathematics awards

We are delighted that a Year 8 boy won a prize in the Australian Mathematics Competition, an Honorable Mention in the Australian Mathematics Olympiad Senior Contest and an Invitation to the Australian Mathematics Olympiad School of Excellence.  A Year 7 boy was first place in the State Junior Division in the Melbourne University Mathematics Competition, gained a prize in the Australian Mathematics Competition, a prize in the Australian Intermediate Mathematics Olympiad, an Honorable Mention in the Australian Mathematics Olympiad Senior Contest and was invited to the Australian Mathematics Olympiad School of Excellence.  While a Year 9 boy was second in the State Intermediate Division of the Melbourne University Mathematics Competition, gained a perfect score and a medal in the Australian Mathematics Competition, was a prize winner in the Intermediate Mathematics Olympiad, gained a perfect score and gold medal in the Australian Mathematics Olympiad Senior Contest, was a Top Three finalist in the Australian Mathematics Trust "Most Inspiring Student" and was invited to the Australian Mathematics Olympiad School of Excellence.   

A Year 11 boy was awarded Bronze in the Australian Mathematics Olympiad Senior Contest.

A Year 7 boy, a Year 9 boy and a Year 10 boy were awarded a High Distinction in the Australian Intermediate Mathematics Olympiad, while a Year 8 and Year 11 boy won Outstanding Awards in the Melbourne University Mathematics Competition. The Year 11 boy also gained an Honourable Mention in the Australian Mathematics Olympiad Senior Contest.

On top of this, four boys in Year 7, two in Year 8, one in Year 9, one in Year 10 and three in Year 11 were awarded prizes in the Australian Mathematics Competition. 

 

Meanwhile four Year 9 boys were Bursary Winners in the Science Talent Search. Eleven High Distinctions were gained by nine Year 11 boys in the Australian Science Olympiads: five in Chemistry, three in Physics and three in Biology.
