Scotch Show Band winners at Mt Gambier

The Scotch College Show Band and Stage Band participated in the annual 'Generations in Jazz' festival in Mount Gambier. 39 boys and 5 staff heard and played with talented musicians from all around the world. James Morrison co-ordinates this event and brings together over 4,500 secondary students from all over Australia to participate in concerts and workshops. In 2017 our Show Band, directed by Megan Philip, competed in Division 2 and our Stage Band, directed by Chris Farrands, competed in Division 3. Show Band won their division. Furthermore, two boys, one on trumpet and the other baritone saxophone, were chosen for the Super Band, a band made up from the best players across the 26 participating bands.
