Featuring highlights from operatic masterpieces such as La Boheme, La Traviata, The Marriage of Figaro and The Magic Flute, as well as favourites from operetta and musicals, Jacqueline Porter and Brenton Spiteri will present a rich and diverse program of works by Puccini, Verdi, Donizetti, Mozart, Bernstein, Sondheim and more.
Both artists are rising stars on the Australian opera scene. Equally at home on the operatic stage or concert platform, Jacqueline performs regularly with the Victorian Opera and as soloist with major orchestras and choral societies. She has worked with celebrated conductors including Sir Neville Marriner, Vladimir Ashkenazy and Oleg Caetani. Brenton’s achievements include being the 2012 Herald Sun Aria winner and a prizewinner in the Mietta Song Competition. He also performs with the Victorian Opera and other opera companies, and appears regularly at the Melbourne Recital Centre. Joining the singers is Amir Farid, a pianist whose experience, sensitivity, and knowledge of vocal repertoire make him the perfect partner.
