Foundational Principle: The inherent value of each individual

Information Technology and Computing are dynamic drivers of this ever changing world. It is a global world, a student today has to think global and live locally.

Students know the world as the world they grow up in. Typically they are native adoptees of the digital devices and interacting with the digital world. Making their way in that world is the need to be equipped with the skills for them to live and grow in that world. They need to become responsible global citizens with developing maturity and purpose to play an active role in enriching their lives and those of others.

Foundational Question: How did the world evolve to be as it is and how might it be made to evolve for the greater good?

The internet and networks are re-shaping our lives as well as the future we experience. The 365 24/7 world has reshaped the economic, social and political landscape. Digital disruption is dramatically changing industries where technology enabled entrants render old players redundant and at a competitive disadvantage. Big data, The ‘Internet of Things’ and Artificial Intelligence are at the forefront of this virtual world that is changing time and space.

Boys will develop an appreciation and understanding of the challenges that will impact upon them, along with the society to which they belong. Privacy issues; individual and national security, moral and ethical dilemma’s are examples of area’s where our society is required to meet the changes and questions posed by rapidly changing technology. 

Boys need to be part of a decision making and implementation process as they develop responses for society that are suitable and appropriate.
