Scotch College seeks to appoint a suitably qualified teacher to the following temporary full-time position for the 2019 school year.

Primary Teacher

This one-year full-time position provides an outstanding opportunity for a creative and highly talented primary teacher to join a dynamic teaching staff. The applicant must demonstrate empathy and understanding of primary-aged children as well as an ability to successfully work as a member of a team. The successful candidate will be able to model effective practice and work with colleagues to implement inclusive strategies that engage and support all students.

Scotch College Junior School has an enrolment of 430 boys from Prep to Year 6 and occupies outstanding facilities on the same campus as the Senior School in Hawthorn. The School is highly regarded for the quality of its academic and co-curricular programmes.

Scotch College seeks to appoint suitably qualified teachers to the following full time positions in 2019.

English/History (Terms 1 and 2)

This long service replacement position involves teaching English to classes at Year 7 and Year 9 and History to a class at Year 8.

Science/Environmental Science (Term 1)

This long service leave replacement position involves teaching Science to classes at Year 7 and Year 8, and Environmental Science to a Year 11 class. The ability to also teach Biology would be an advantage

Scotch College seeks to appoint a suitably qualified teacher to the following position for the start of 2019 or as soon as is practical thereafter.

Head of Drama

Scotch College is seeking to appoint an outstanding Head of Drama to lead the teaching and learning of Drama from Years 7 – 12. The successful candidate for this senior position will be an experienced teacher able to lead a dynamic and well qualified team of specialist Drama teachers. The ability to promote and inculcate innovative teaching, learning and assessment practices across the department will be critical.

To be successful, candidates must be able to demonstrate:

  • the ability to provide effective academic, strategic and operational leadership;
  • a willingness and capacity to identify and drive initiatives that improve outcomes for boys;
  • experience in developing high quality Drama curricula and a willingness to work collaboratively with members of the Department to improve curriculum at all levels; and,
  • experience in directing theatre productions and in at least one other production area.

Commencing from the start of 2019, this is an exceptional opportunity for a leading Drama educator.
