How to Apply

Step 1 > Complete the Scholarship Application Form

Academic Excellence, General Excellence and Boarding Scholarships

Academic Excellence, General Excellence and Boarding Scholarship applications can be submitted via the links below. Please note the application opening and closing dates, available here.

To be considered, an application must contain all of the following:

  1. The completed scholarship application form
  2. Scholarship application fee of $125 (please note this is non-refundable and non-transferable)
  3. Copy of the student’s last school report
  4. Copy of the student’s most recent NAPLAN assessment or, if no test has previously been completed, a second school report

Shortlisted candidates will also be asked to submit the following:

  1. Statement outlining how the applicant will contribute to the Scotch community if his application is successful. Files must be either .png, .jpg, .pdf, .doc or .docx.
  2. Character reference by a person (not related to the applicant) who has known the student over time. Files must be either .png, .jpg, .pdf, .doc or .docx.
  3. Recent passport-size photograph of the student
  4. Copy of the student’s birth certificate

 

First Nations Scholarships
First Nations Scholarships are accepted any time. To apply, please complete the First Nations Scholarship Application Form.

 

Step 2 > Academic Testing

Applicants will be invited to sit the scholarship test at Scotch College. Academic testing covers a range of disciplines including General Reasoning and Problem solving, Mathematics Achievement and Reasoning, Reading Comprehension and Written Expression.

Step 3 > Invitation to Interview

Shortlisted applicants will then be invited to an interview with the Principal, Director of Extension Studies and/or other nominated delegates. Interviews will be held either in person or via video conference, depending on the applicant’s location.

Step 4 > Offer of Scholarship

Shortlisted candidates will be contacted for an interview. Please note that test results cannot be released to families.

Successful applicants will be sent a Letter of Offer via email. To formally accept, parents must confirm their acceptance of the scholarship and return the signed terms and conditions.

Parents of unsuccessful applicants will be notified via email once the scholarship allocation process has been completed. Unsuccessful applicants are welcome to re-apply in future years, where eligibility criteria are met.
