New School Council Members
New School Council Members:
Two new members, both old boys of the School have joined School Council.
Christian Johnston, also a current parent, has over 25 years’ experience as a corporate advisor in Australia and the United States, primarily focused on advising clients on mergers, acquisitions and capital markets transactions. He is currently an Advisory Director for Goldman Sachs in Australia & New Zealand having previously served as Chairman and before that as Head of Investment Banking for 14 years. Christian is also a member of the Australian Government Takeovers Panel, the Melbourne Cricket Club Committee (Vice President), the Ormond College Council and Adara Partners Advisory Panel.
Chris McArthur, has extensive corporate experience in both non-executive and executive roles, with deep investment and governance expertise across large scale infrastructure and property businesses, including board leadership of people and culture, remuneration and risk management. Chris has over 30 years’ executive experience, retiring in March 2022 as Australian co-head of the c.$20 billion global infrastructure business of First Sentier Investors (formerly Colonial First State Global Asset Management). He previously held senior executive roles with Qantas in Sydney and London, including as head of QantasLink regional airlines. Chris is an experienced company director, serving for 15 years on large corporate boards in the US, UK and Australia.
